Basant community Processing Unit and Basant Community 
Farmers Resource Centre (BCFRC) are interlinked centers 
that function under the umbrella of Basant FPO aimed 
to provide certain value-added services to the farmers 
products in the Bundelkhand region. 
The Basant Community Processing Unit, undertakes 
sorting, processing and packaging of produce of Agri based

products –like Turmeric, Coriander, Chili, 
Chickpea powder, wheat porridge (Daliya) and Pulses. 
The raw agricultural products are transformed into 
marketable products through various processing value 
added techniques.
While the BCFRCs is a district and village-level 
agricultural junction or resource center that aims to 
a) provide agri-based information to the farmers (be 
it on technology, schemes, trainings and others) and 
b) support the Basant Community Food Processing 
Unit to increase the marketing of its products to 
customers within the communities as well as in the 
surrounding areas. It also offering farmers easy access 
to quality seeds, organic inputs, and agricultural tools 
in one place! Through this effort, the FPO aims to 
unite farmers, enhance their production capabilities, 
and improve product marketing functioning as a 
membership-based organisation with clear and 
specific responsibilities.
